FAQs

Yes, we have testing that happens every 3 months. Beginners will test every test cycle until the get to red belt when they will test every 6 months (if they are ready). Only students that are ready based on time in their rank, class attendance and curriculum mastery are invited to test. If a student fails a test, the test fee is refunded.

Another cost is sparring gear. Every student that gets to orange belt (about 6 months in) is required to have their own set of sparring gear. The gear will last until they grow out of it.

Other fees include uniforms, t-shirts etc.

Master Estes is in charge of all the in person classes. He is a 6th dan with over 20 years teaching experience. We also have two certified instructors that are 22 years old that have been training with us since they were 4-5 years old. We have a training program for instructors where they start helping in classes when they are red belts (about 2 years into their training). They continue to train as instructors until they reach black belt when they can become certified instructors.

We teach a standing martial art called Tang Soo Do from Korea. We teach all the basic kicks, blocks and strikes as well as self defense, forms (kata) and non-contact sparring. We start with a warmup of various coordination drills followed by pad work and then split into smaller groups to work on the other elements of the curriculum. We end with a fun game.

We teach ages 5 and older. We have our Tiger program for ages 5-7 and then our Dragon program for ages 8+.

For Tigers the minimum is 1 class per week. For Dragons, Teens and Adults, we recommend a minimum of 2 classes per week to maintain progress through the belt system. To make it easier, we offer indoor, outdoor and zoom (not boring like a math class!) classes.

We do not use long term contracts. We offer either a month to month agreement or class packs. We do offer a discount if you pay for a year in full but if you do not complete the year, we pro-rate a refund for the unused portion.

Yes!  We are part of the Martial Arts Masters Alliance.  Our instructors and our facility are re-certified regularly by the Alliance steering committee.
